Bea began her stand-up comedy career in the year 2011, following appearances as a guest on a variety of Irish television shows and British shows since the year 2009. In 2012, she began to regularly appear on sitcoms and sketch shows. Following her win in the Edinburgh Comedy Awards, she was invited to appear on a number of panel show. Between 2016 and 2017, she served as a captain for 8 Out of 10 Cats and is a frequent contestant on the spinoff 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Born to Brian O'Sullivan and his wife, she has one sibling named Sinead. In 2012 she became the second woman to ever receive the So You Think You're Funny award. Her surname is Bea to honor her late father. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan is the daughter of a Kildare woman who was born in Kildare. Born on in March 16, 1984. Her father Brian was a veterinarian for horses who died when Bea was only three years old, though she wasn't told about how he died until she was 13. The stage name she chose was Bea in honor of her father and she wrote an article for The Guardian in 2017 about the family's suicide experience. Bea was fostered by her sister Sinead with Helen Moloney. Helen is a secondary teacher, jockey trainer as well as a former professional racer. The family was horse and race meeting obsessed. Bea had a job as a Tour Guide in the Irish National Stud. From a very young age, Bea knew that she didn't want the racing industry. Instead, she was drawn to the performing arts.
